It is always a very nervous time (and cool) to have something significant (car, airplane, boat, etc) being shipped to and from overseas. My new glider is currently on its way to the United States from Germany 🇩🇪. It is currently in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. It passed thru a significant storm yesterday. That was fun to watch (7m waves)! The ship, the Siem Aristotle, is a car carrier for Volkswagen exclusively and they are willing to take on other vehicles as room permits. The price for shipping the glider trailer (30ftx6ftx8ft) was fairly reasonable price. Only about €2300 Euros total including transport from the glider factory to the port, insurance, packing, paperwork, etc. Not too shabby. Huge thanks the Alexander Schleicher for arranging. Now hopefully they don’t hit an iceberg going over to Halifax, NS in a few days! There are many iceberg warnings in that area! 😳
